In 2001, for our first Himalaya trek, we went to Bhutan and did the 17-day Chomolari-Laya trek.  It snowed or rained almost every day, and many other treks turned back, but we had an incredible time. Few tourists were in Bhutan then, and it was like visiting the 16th century.  We spent a few days visiting Bhutan after the trek before we returned home.
